ABOUT TOMORROW'S STARFISH, INC.
Tomorrow's Starfish, located in Shelbyville, Kentucky is a charitable foundation dedicated to helping children and families in need. With the support of our volunteers and donors, we strive to improve the lives of families who need help within our community.
Our structure is unique, but cost effective to make the greatest difference. One of the many projects we support is Salvation Army Angel Tree. Several years ago we came across popular toys on clearance over the summer. This gave us the idea to buy them, store them in our home until Christmas, then match the toys with Angel Tree kids who requested those items. This purchase strategy and bargain hunting allowed us to buy more toys for more kids in our community. In 2015, we provided gifts and clothes for 15 kids through Angel Tree. In 2020, we provided gifts and clothes for 130 kids using this method. We hope to fulfill even more wish lists in 2021 and beyond.
We recently launched the "Birthday Club" with ChooseWell Communities in Louisville and hope to expand to other local non-profits who we can assist. This project includes a box of cake mix, icing, birthday party supplies and a gift card neatly packaged in a cake pan with lid. If you know any organizations within Shelby County, Kentucky or surrounding areas who would like to partner with us and benefit from the Birthday Club, we would love to hear about them!
